Where to get Focaccia Pizza in Portland | The Focacceria

A slice of Pepperoni pizza from The Focacceria.

Good things come in squares at The Focacceria, where you'll find slices of Focaccia Bread turned into pizza. If the bread is the best part of pizza for you, you'll adore this Portland spot. This is a counter service place, where you'll order at the counter, and then they'll deliver your food to your table. Along with pizza slices, they have salads, Garlic Nots, Cheesy Stix, whole pizzas, sandwiches using their amazing Focaccia, and two kinds of sweets.

They sell beer, along with some stellar canned cocktails we tried. The Focacceria also has a small Italian marketplace featuring dried pastas, sauces, olive oil, canned tomatoes, and more. Another unique thing they have is a vending machine that dispenses tiny art prints for four quarters. I got the pasta one! Perfect for my scrapbook. We grabbed a seat at a counter and tried our Old Fashioned in a can. This was a local one from Oregon and the can was small. This cocktail tasted just like a handcrafted one and paired great with my pizza.

So how was the pizza? First of all, the size was huge. The Focaccia had an amazing texture. The layers and bounciness of the bread created a perfect base. The sauce, cheese, and crispy pepperonis hit just right. The rest of my family enjoyed their slices, too, and we all collectively sighed with satisfaction as we made quick work of our lunch.

This is the kind of hidden gem I enjoy discovering when I travel. It shows what a little bit of research can get you before you take a trip. This spot was a highlight for us during our Portland getaway!
