Valentine's Day Dinner at Chan
For Valentine's Day dinner, my husband and I dined at Chan, located in downtown Seattle at the Paramount Hotel. Chan's menu features progressive Korean cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. It was busy because of the holiday and the service reflected that. I started with a glass of the Pink Bubbles. I like to have something bubbly to drink on V-Day, and this glass was tart and crisp. We shared three of the small plates, and each portion was quite small, so we ended up ordering one more small plate and dessert to share.
They brought out each dish one by one, which I liked. Our first dish was the Soy Cured King Salmon. I felt like the prices were high for each dish, considering how small each one was. The ingredients were high quality, however. The salmon tasted super fresh and had Asian pear, Serrano, creme fraise sauce, and radish. Next up we had the Chicken Wings, which only came with four wings. These were tasty and had a chili caramel glaze, peanuts, scallions, and pickled radish. I felt like $14 was pricy for four though.
We ended up getting two orders of the Beef Sliders since we were still hungry. These had Bulgogi Ribeye Beef, cucumber kimchi, chili aioli, scallion, and a brioche bun. These sliders were my favorite of the savory dishes. The beef was really tender and flavorful. For dessert we had the Basque Cheesecake which was topped with Strawberry ice cream and a strawberry compote. This was delicious and I liked the combo of the cheesecake with the ice cream. Kind of a slay, and I'm now craving it again.
