The Brand-New Pier 58 Playground

 
One week ago today, the new Pier 58 Playground on the Seattle waterfront opened. We'd been waiting about a year for this park to open, and my sons couldn't wait to go play and check it out! The theme of the playground is a marine one, with a giant octopus climbing structure with a super-fast slide. There are tons of climbing areas, and plenty of soft turf for running around. They've also added some green space for hanging out and taking in views of the water and the Olympic Mountains. I also like the new views of the Seattle Great Wheel from the park. This new park is located in between the Seattle Aquarium and the Seattle Great Wheel. 

We love this addition to the waterfront, and it goes so well with the new Overlook Walk, which connects the waterfront to Pike Place Market. The waterfront was under construction for years building all of this, including taking down the Viaduct and building new roads. Now this area looks so shiny and new, the perfect place for locals and visitors alike!
