Trying Dirty Soda from MT Sips

One of the aspects I adore about trips is discovering unique food and drinks! During our visit to Montana last month, my mom and I were wandering around a local park in Columbia Falls, Marantette Park, and we came across a Dirty Soda truck. This business, MT Sips, runs out of an old horse trailer, and it was adorable! I didn't know what kind of trailer it was, but my mom, living in NW MT her whole life, recognized it as one. I'd never been to a Dirty Soda spot before, especially one ran out a trailer.

Dirty Soda became huge in Utah around 2010 for members of the Mormon community. They try to avoid coffee, tea, and alcohol, so Dirty Soda became a popular caffeinated beverage. These drinks are customizable with your choice of soda or juice, then you add cream, and mix it. They remind me of Root Beer Floats, which are really nostalgic for me. I've made my own version at home with Diet Coke and about a 1/2 cup of vanilla protein shake. It tasted amazing and had low calories and sugar. Just caffeine and protein and some calories and fat from the vanilla protein shake. Fast food spots around the country have caught up to the trend and now sell Dirty Soda.

At MT Sips, they have a wide menu with cute, cowboy themed names of drinks to choose from. My mom and I shared a Dirty Soda. We selected The Wrangler. This one had Dr. Pepper, Toasted Marshmallow syrup, Vanilla syrup, Sweet Cream, and Cold Foam on top. I prefer diet drinks, but my mom doesn't like them, so we went with a full sugar soda. The drinks are pricey but sharing one didn't hurt too much. The medium size we ordered was $7. The drink was pretty sweet but was to be expected. The flavors of the Dr. Pepper with the marshmallow and vanilla flavor were very good, and so fun to drink! It was a hot day, in the 90's, so the drink was so refreshing.

This was so fun to stumble upon a Dirty Soda trailer on my visit to Columbia Falls!
