Mother's Day Weekend Brunch at The Garrison

Two mouthwatering brunch dishes from The Garrison in Ballard.  For Mother's Day weekend, my family and I dined at The Garrison . This is a locally owned Oyster and Seafood house located in Ballard. I started with a Sunset Espresso Martini. This had Amaro, Licor 43, Cold Brew, and Boomsma Herbal. I didn't really enjoy their version of the drink, and I should have known by reading the ingredients it would be different than the classic cocktail made with espresso. Unfortunately, we didn't really care for my husband's drink, an Almond Croissant Sidecar either. This had a bunch of ingredients and featured Cognac, but we didn't find it very tasty. He did however order a Manhattan later in the meal, and this classic martini was much better.  My sons shared the Chicken and Waffles. This was a pretty standard version of the classic brunch dish. Holiday Decor | 2024

Welcome to December! Today's the first day December and it's the start of the holiday season. I decorated my house for Christmas a couple of days ago and it's feeling festive with the lights and my cute decor. Every year I like to purchase a few new items to spruce things up. This year I had good luck finding some fun things at Target and Marshalls.

I found this adorable small Gingerbread snow globe at Marshalls. The bottom is actually a bottle opener, too!

I actually found this mini-Christmas Tree at Target in the $5 bin! I put it in my bedroom next to my bed and my Hello Kitty snow globe I bought from a local Seattle shop a few years ago.

This Corgi mug is from Target. This is my son's favorite mug to have hot cocoa in. He loves Corgi dogs!

While wandering around West Seattle we came across this shop decked out for the holidays. This is Brocante Beach House, an antique store that's filled to the brim with adorable holiday items. It was fun to browse the store and get in the holiday mood.

At Target, I also found this Mickey ornament.

At Walgreens, I found this Harry Potter chocolate frog ornament I just had to have.

I also bought some new candles at Target. This Almond Croissant one is my favorite. It makes my home smell like a bakery!

At Marshall's I found this Mickey Gingerbread mug. I love it!
