Downtown Seattle Holiday Scenes

The annual Gingerbread Village, located at The Sheraton Grand Hotel in downtown Seattle.

Every December I love walking around Downtown Seattle to check out the holiday happenings. We park at Pacific Place and look at the decor first. This year they have Candlelight Concerts every Friday night. We were there just in time to hear some gorgeous Christmas music. The musicians were surrounded by candles, and it was so pretty.

We ate dinner on the top floor of Pacific Place at Din Tai Fung. This was our first time at this location, and it felt very urban and lux. I started with a Yuzu Margarita and I loved it. Why does everything at Din Tai Fung have to be so good?! My sons described the whole meal as heavenly. We all shared some Pork Xaio Long Bao, which is always a fav. These will cure anything.

For dessert we tried something new- the Chocolate Buns. These come two to an order and are filled with the most decadent chocolate lava. We also can't go to this restaurant without getting an order of the Chocolate and Mochi Xaio Long Bao. Our server recommended getting the Sea Salt Creme for dipping, which I was grateful for, since I almost forgot about that part. These dessert Xaio Long Bao are also filled with the most delicious chocolate filling; you'll be wanting to lick your plate.

The festive tree in the lobby of Din Tai Fung. This spot gets busy, so I recommend making a reservation.

My Zuzu Margarita. My husband had an Old Fashioned which was also really good! I also got a Lychee Martini which I've had several times before and it's one of the best I've had.

The Pork Xiao Long Bao. We got two orders to share.

The view from the top floor of the restaurant inside Pacific Place. The long hallway to the restrooms offered this cool view of the city.

Our two desserts!

The interior at this Din Tai Fung location was so pretty!

After dinner we walked over to Westlake Center to check out the huge Christmas Tree!

This year's theme for the Gingerbread Village is the Toy Shop Time Machine. This is a free event inside The Sheraton Grand Hotel. You can contribute a donation for Type 1 Diabetes research.  I love going to this every December. My favorite display featured Winnie the Pooh and Thomas the Train and was so cute! This year the displays were very nostalgic and filled with whimsy.
