Lunch at The Shed in Woodinville | A rooftop lounge at The Somm Hotel and Spa
Our family drove north to Woodinville from Seattle to dine at The Shed. This is a rooftop restaurant and bar located on top The Somm Hotel and Spa. This is a high-end Marriot Hotel which just opened in September.
The Shed is located on the 5th floor rooftop, so although it wasn't super high, the views on top of the hotel were quintessential Washington. The views of the wine country, mountains, and trees made a gorgeous and memorable backdrop while we enjoyed our cocktails and seasonal small plates.
You can choose to either dine inside or outside, and reservations are recommended. We sat outside and our family had a comfy and roomy couch and chairs with a low table. I sipped a glass of Blanc De Blancs, a sparkling white wine that was nice and bubbly and went down smooth. My husband ordered The Cure cocktail which had rum, coconut, pineapple, orange, and lime. This was really light and refreshing.
We shared three items for lunch. We had the Parker Rolls, a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and hot honey, and The Shed Burger which had a Wagyu Patty. The rolls were fluffy and soft and came with a spreadable butter. The pizza looked wood-fired and had six pieces. We loved the flavors of the pizza and all of the savory meat piled on top. The burger was cooked perfectly and was thick and juicy. My husband ordered The Silk Road Old Fashioned which had a Jasmine Rice Washed Woodinville Bourbon and tasted incredible.
The Somm is short for Sommelier, a wine expert. The name pays homage to the local wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms in the area, and the hotel even has a wine mixing room. We walked around the lobby after we ate lunch, and everything was so pretty.
We had a truly enjoyable experience dining at The Shed and checking out The Somm Hotel and Spa while we were there!
