We tried the new Sip and Savor program at Pike Place Market

My Red Sangria from Copacabana Cafe at Pike Place Market. This week the market started a Sip and Savor cocktail program with to-go cocktails. At participating restaurants, you can order a cocktail, beer, or wine to go and sip it in the market! This is only available in the summer and on weekends from noon until 5 pm.

Yesterday my family checked out some new things on the Seattle waterfront and Pike Place Market. These areas aren't just for visitors, us locals enjoy these Seattle attractions, too! Especially when the areas are new and improved like the waterfront, or there's new businesses to try.

Seattle is one of the 16 host cities for the FIFA World Cup. We will be hosting six matches starting June 15th. We found some cool art around the waterfront featuring the logo and some selfie areas, too! I love the whale tail log and pretty colors for it. The Space Needle currently has a giant soccer ball painted on top, but we weren't able to see it and get a photo yet.

On the waterfront is also the new Sasquatch Mountain attraction at Pier 57. This is a VR attraction, but outside you can look at the crazy bigfoot animatronic! This guy is kind of scary, but pretty funny to watch, and you'll get some fun videos and photos.

I snapped this photo of the ferry docked, with the stormy skies and dark blue and grey water. We arrived at the waterfront right before it started raining. We knew it was coming by how dark the sky was. We walked around in the light rain, but we still had fun exploring the area!

Once we were done at the waterfront, we walked up the Overlook stairs to Pike Place Market. My husband and I wanted to grab a to-go cocktail for the new Sip and Savor program. The market was packed, so we kind of just went to the first restaurant we saw. We chose Copacabana Cafe, a Bolivian cafe we've never eaten at. They have an upstairs area, but for the go-to drinks, don't go up the stairs. Instead go to the back, in the Post Alley area and you'll see a window for the drinks.

You can choose from four cocktails, all priced at $15 each. I chose a Red Sangria, and my husband chose a Pina Colada. These were really good drinks! His was a blended one and kind of made him cold since it was raining, but in the summer months, it would be just right! Then we were able to drink it while walking around the cobblestone streets, while taking in the market vibes. This summer drink program is only on weekends from noon until 5 pm. I hope they do this every summer. I think it's a fun thing to be able to do at the market! There's many U.S cities where you can walk around with to-go cocktails such as Vegas, New Orleans, and many theme parks.

After we got our drinks, we walked over to Daily Dozen Doughnuts so our boys could get a snack! We love their mini doughnuts, and we've visited lots of times over the years. We got some Bacon Maple doughnuts and they were perfect!

Our last stop was the new store Makers, located across from the market by Salt and Straw. This local shop features items from small businesses and sell art, stationary, pins, and more, all in one spot. I bought a mini print from the mini print vending machine for $1. These are always so cute and very detailed little art pieces. My snow cone print was so good!

Since our two-hour parking was up, we headed back to our car and drove home, but we had a great afternoon around the waterfront and market area! It's always a joy to visit this part of the city to see what's new!

Have you visited Pike Place Market and the Seattle Waterfront lately? If you haven't and you're a local, it's time to visit again and explore the city you live in. What are you waiting for!?
