Trying the new Houston TX Hot Chicken in Seattle

 A couple of months ago, Seattle got a new hot chicken spot. Houston TX Hot Chicken is a quick-service restaurant that sells Hot Chicken and they're located in Belltown. They're a national chain and there are now three locations in Washington. They're known for their all-natural ingredients and bold flavors. You can choose the spice level on your chicken from no spice at all to extremely spicy. 

Our family checked it out and tried a good variety of the menu. My son and I each ordered one of the milkshakes. We both got a Chocolate shake, but I ordered mine topped with a Belgian Waffle. Yum! The shake was really thick, so a spoon was needed. The chocolate flavor was nice and rich, but my favorite part was that fluffy and sweet waffle, dunked into the ice cream. You can order the Chicken Tenders on their own, so I ordered two. Then you choose what level of heat for your chicken, and even what kind of sauce. They have a wide variety of options for each. I selected one Honey Rub and one Mild level. Then I picked a Cheese sauce and a Ranch. 

I ended up really liking the tenders. They got a 9 out of 10 from me! I really liked the spice rub on my mild tender and the slightly sweet honey rub on the other one. The chicken was fresh and cooked just right and the coating had a nice crunch to it. The sauces made them even better, since I never turn away a sauce. My son ordered the Chicken Tenders with a Belgian Waffle. All of the food except for my tenders came with Crinkle Fries, our favorite kind of fries. These had a flavorful seasoning similar to Paprika that was really enjoyable. My other son ordered some Chicken Nuggets with fries, and my husband got the Original Sandwich which has slaw and the house sauce on a Brioche Bun. 

Everyone enjoyed their Hot Chicken, and it was a satisfying dinner! But the prices were a bit steep, with the chicken items costing between $13 to $16. I liked the interior of the restaurant which had club music, and cool pictures of cars and bright art on the wall. Check this new spot out in Belltown if you love Hot Chicken!
