The NW Folklife Festival 2026

 This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, so that means the NW Folklife Festival is being held at the Seattle Center. This is the 55th year of this annual event. Our family goes every year. This cultural festival has different themes every year and this year's focus is solidarity, joy, and liberation. You can read more about the festival's theme and the overall event here. 

We like to walk around and take in the vibes. There is live music on stages and individuals playing around Seattle Center. There are two Beer Gardens and lots of food booths with just about anything your heart desires. We shared a Lamb Gyro that really hit the spot, and then we shared some Strawberry Shortcake. It came in a large cup and layered with strawberries, pound cake, and whipped cream. It tasted delectable and was great to eat while walking around. 

On of my sons got a dozen small mini doughnuts with cinnamon and sugar, and my other son got an Oreo Churro from a churro cart. Since they love the playground at Seattle Center, they played for a long time there. The weather was warm and beautiful, so it felt so good to be in the sun and fresh air.
