Lunch at Mexicuban in Renton, WA

The first day of summer called for a Margarita Flight!

Happy first day of summer! There's no better way to celebrate than by going out to lunch and ordering a Margarita Flight. Our family went to Renton and had lunch at Mexicuban. I saw this spot on social media and it looked like a beautiful space with unique eats. Here you can order Fluffy Tacos, which are deep-fried corn tortillas topped with your choice of protein.

The Marg Flight had a neat presentation, with four Margaritas and a spout on top. There was a Strawberry, a Coconut, a Burnt Orange, and a spicy Mango Habanero one. They were on the sweet side, which I enjoyed, and packed a punch. My husband and I shared the flight, and we also shared a Whiskey Sour which had a Mexican touch and was topped with a lime garnish.

To eat I chose the Pork Belly Fluffy Tacos. These were a fun spin on regular tacos, but the tortillas were a little on the hard and crispier side. The Pork Belly had good flavor, but I kept getting the really hard skin and it was hard to chew. The pineapple pieces were tasty and added some nice texture. My husband ordered the Cubano Sandwich with Fries. Their version had shredded pork and was served on a Ciabatta Bun. My sons ordered from the kid's menu and both really liked their food. One son had the Cheeseburger with Fries and my other son had a Cheese Quesadilla with beans and rice.

For dessert we shared the Caramel Churros with vanilla ice cream. They were piping hot and so delicious. The ice cream was a nice contrast to the hot churros. These were a strong ending to our lunch. Our server was really friendly, and we loved the interior of the restaurant. The cocktails were really fun, but I wasn't a fan of my Pork Belly Fluffy Tacos.
