Two fun spots to dine in Spokane, WA

When our family drives to MT, Spokane, WA is the halfway point. My husband likes to break up the trip into two days and stay overnight there. We always stay in Spokane Valley since its right off the freeway. This time I researched some restaurants so we could have a nice sit down dinner with drinks after a day of being in the car. The two spots I found that looked really good were both located at Spokane Valley Mall, which were both close to the hotels we stayed at the beginning and the end of our trip.

Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar

The first night of our trip we dined at Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar. Their happy hour looked great, but then we missed it by ten minutes. I started with a Huckleberry Lemondrop and my husband had a Manhattan. My drink was so sweet and refreshing. These kind of cocktails are dangerously good because you can't taste the alcohol. For my second round I had the Blood Orange Martini and it tasted just as awesome as my first drink. To eat I had the Bruschetta Flatbread. I was both cheesy and fresh. I loved all of the delicious tomatoes and since I like my pizza thin, a Flatbread is always so good. My husband had the Steak Sandwich with a side salad. The steak was cooked medium and was nice and thick. Our sons had the Chicken Strips and fries from the kid's menu. They have a huge menu of just Martini's and the menu is Casual American. I could see dropping by here again next time I'm in Spokane. They have more locations in WA, and some in Utah and Idaho.

Cheers to amazing cocktails!

Hops n Drops

When we came back through Spokane from MT, we dined at Hops n Drops. We were staying overnight across the street at The Oxford Suites, making this place really convenient. Their menu looked really good. It was filled with American and Mexican food. I had the Carnitas Quesadillas and my husband had the Southwest Chicken Taquitos. Our sons had the Grilled Cheese with Tatar Tots. The cocktail menu looked super fun and unique.

I tried two cocktails from their Icy Drops menu. The Icy Drops were so fun because the drink comes in an ice cube that fits inside another glass. This way, your cocktail stays super cold. I tried the White Gummy Bear and the Sour Patch. The first drink had 360 Red Raspberry Vodka and Bols Peach. There was also a few mini Gummy Bears in the bottom for a fun and playful twist. The drink was so good and cold. Just like the Martini's at Twigs Bistro, it was sweet, tart, and delicious, and I couldn't tell there was any alcohol in it. You gotta sip these kind of cocktails slowly. The Sour Patch Icy Drop had 360 Red Raspberry Vodka, 360 Huckleberry Vodka, Bols Blue Curacao, triple sec, sweet and sour, Sierra Mist, and it was garnished with a Sour Patch Kid. My husband had a Mango Long Island Iced Tea which was fruity and strong.

We really enjoyed Hops n Drops and would return for more Mexican eats and Icy Drops. They have more locations around WA, CO, and OR.
