Dinner at Quinn's

Wow.  You wanna talk about a real food experience.  Like heaven in my mouth.  Tonight I ate Foie Gras for the first time.  The stuff isn't cheap, but oh, it was worth it.  I ordered the Frites with seared Foie Gras, which is a french delicacy of duck or goose liver, and took one bite not knowing what to expect.  It melted in my mouth like butter.  I said to my husband across from me, who also was having a moment of sorts with his bite, you've never lived until you've tasted this.  We high fived, took a sip of our drinks and sighed.  We were having Saturday date night at Quinn's on Capital Hill.  It was our first experience and definitely a positive one.  I started with a glass of red wine, a Sangiovese, and my husband had an Old Fashioned.  Then the appetizer of all appetizers, Spicy Bacon Caramel Corn.  So good and what a way to start off a dinner.  I've never had bacon caramel corn before.  It was spicy, bacony and super sticky and sweet.  Then I had the Grilled Zucchini and the Frites with Foie Gras.  My husband ate the Crispy Skin Half Chicken.  To finish off our meal, we shared a tiny scoop of the Lemon Cheesecake Ice Cream.  It was super light and refreshing.  We had such a fun time and a real foodie experience to boot.  Quinn's is a Gastopub.  So like a pub but fancier with nicer dishes.  Hey, we can't be in London for the Olympics so why not have date night at a fancy pub in Capital Hill.  My husband had such a nice dinner, he said he wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else, and you can't beat that.
