Two unique desserts we tried in Tukwila, WA

A Dubai Chocolate Bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes in Tukwila.

We recently tried two fun and unique treats in the Southcenter area of Tukwila! We've driven by Nothing Bundt Cakes hundreds of times and I've always wondered how it was. When I saw online that they currently had a Dubai Chocolate Bundt Cake, I decided to finally give them a try. Nothing Bundt Cakes in a national chain that first opened by two mom friends who both had a love for baking and entrepreneurial spirits.

The location we visited was small, but we were greeted with a yummy looking display case filled with all kinds of sweet flavors of Bundt Cakes. There were at least twelve flavors. There are also several sizes to choose from, but my sons and I all selected the medium size, a Bundtlet. We tried the Dubai Chocolate. This is their pop-up flavor, which means it's around for a limited time. This one has their signature Chocolate Chip Cake filled with Pistachio Cream and Phyllo Mixture and crowned with chocolate frosting. One is enough for two people, or one hungry person who's ready to treat themselves.

This Dubai Chocolate Bundtlet was really messy for trying in my car. You need utensils with these guys, and a nice table to eat at. I was trying to take photos in front of the store, so it did get messy fast. The chocolate frosting along the sides kept sliding off and falling all over my car. It was super tasty frosting though. The cake part was really soft and moist with a rich chocolate flavor I enjoyed. There wasn't too much Pistachio with the Phyllo Mixture though, about two bites in the very center. I would have enjoyed this more if I had chilled it at home and then enjoyed it later with a spoon. Add some vanilla ice cream, and wow, your sweet tooth would be set!

At Westfield Southcenter a couple minutes away by car, we tried some Fried Chicken Ice Cream! We'd been seeing this treat go viral online and it looked so fun. It looks just like a chicken drumstick, but it's actually vanilla ice cream with some crunchy coating. We found this unique item near the Lego Store on level one, at one of the many kiosks in the walkway.

They also sell the viral fruit ice cream which we've tried before at other spots. We all shared one Fried Chicken Ice Cream, and it was spendy at $9 total with tax. It was neat to try but not the most amazing tasting thing ever. It was just vanilla ice cream, and the coating wasn't very sweet, but I did like the crunchy texture with the ice cream. There was even a wafer core in the center to mimic the wishbone part of the chicken. Who thinks of this stuff!? We've seen this ice cream before where they sold some strawberry jam for dipping to mimic ketchup or BBQ Sauce. Would you try ice cream that looks like fried chicken!?
