Lunch at Un Po Tipsy in Pioneer Square

We're obsessed with the pizza-stained glass at Un Po Tipsy, the new pizzeria in Pioneer Square.

Last month, a few new food and drink spots opened in Pioneer Square, by the Seattle restauranteur Renee Erikson, as part of RailSpur. RailSpur is three historic warehouse buildings consisting of office space, retail, restaurant, and residential. One building has Un Po Tipsy, Lowlander Brewing, and a fine dining restaurant, Mio Oh Mio

The pizza spot and the brewery have different hours with the pizza place closing at 6 pm and the brewery opening daily at 3 pm, so we just checked out the pizza spot for lunch for now. Un Po Tipsy has slices, salads, soft serve, cookies, and several cocktails. Upon walking in, I was impressed with the bright and clean space, and the unique pizza stained-glass dominating the room and looking so pretty! But most importantly, was the display of NYC-style pizzas lined up like jewels before us.

You order at the counter, and they'll bring you your food and drinks to the seating area to the left of the counter. They handed us a menu, and I was happy to see they had an Espresso Martini and even soft serve ice cream. These are a few of my favorite things! I selected a slice of Pepperoni, and my husband chose a slice of Sausage. We each got an Espresso Martini and also chose some vanilla and chocolate soft serve swirl. We visited before the lunch crowd came, so we had our pick of tables.

Our drinks came in small, round glasses, and the Espresso Martini was so good! The pizza slices are on the bigger side, so one slice was just right for us. The pizza wasn't very hot, but I personally like my pizza not too hot, because I find the flavors pop more when the cheese is set up. The crust had a nice chew to it, almost too chewy when I got the end of the slice. The style is NYC, but a little thicker than the standard. The flavors were perfect and the pep were the small ones, perfectly salty and spicy.

The soft serve was delicious, and it's hard to mess up this classic cold treat. Some toppings or sprinkles would be a perfect addition. It's not ice cream weather, but that's never stopped us. Un Po Tipsy is exactly what the neighborhood needed, as there wasn't much of a pizza scene in Pioneer Square. In my mind, you can never have too many NY pizza spots around, especially if it's really good quality like this spot. I used to live in Pioneer Square years ago, and this would be a regular haunt for me if I still lived around the corner.
