New Year's Eve Dinner at Pablo Y Pablo

Beef Birria Quesadillas from Pablo Y Pablo. The perfect thing to end 2022 off right.

Happy 2023! This is my first post of the year and I'm posting about one of my favorite foods-Birria Tacos! Last night for NYE dinner, my fam and I ate at Pablo Y Pablo. This is a Mexican spot in Wallingford I'd wanted to dine at for a while. The space is dark, loud, and had a club-like feel. Just right for a night like NYE!

We arrived fifteen minutes before happy hour ended, so my husband and I ordered a Blood Orange Margarita. At $11 for each drink, this was a good deal. The drink was fruity and tasted pretty light, considering it had Tequila in it. The rim had Tajin, which is a Mexican flavoring. I find it too tart and sour! We got two orders of the chips and salsa. They are $2.50 each. To eat, I ordered the Beef Barria Quesadillas. My husband got Braised Chicken Enchiladas. My sons ordered Nachos and the Cheese Quesadilla from the kid's menu.

I found the food to be pretty pricey. My tacos were $23 and came with three to an order. However, it did come with rice. There wasn't any lime, which these types of tacos usually come with. The consommĆ© sauce for dipping had fresh avocado on top. The tacos were a little salty. I ate two and had my leftover one today for lunch. These Birria Tacos are always filled to the brim with shredded beef and really filling. I love the flavor of these Birria Tacos. If you get the chance to try them, I definitely recommend!

My husband also had one of the holiday drinks- a Oaxacan Cosmopolitan. It tasted just like a Cosmo and was a really pretty and festive drink. For dessert we ordered some Churros. They came with a chocolate dipping sauce. The order was huge and the Churros were piping hot! A perfect way to end our NYE meal!
