Exploring Downtown San Diego, Little Italy, and Dinner at Harumama

After taking a break in our room we headed back out, this time to downtown San Diego. My son is into sports stadiums so he wanted to see Petco Park where the Padres play. We were able to find free parking about a block away. We took a walk around the stadium and checked it out. Then we spotted a neat bridge that our boys wanted to walk across. The views of downtown from the bridge were nice and worth the trek. Then we walked back to the car and headed to Little Italy for dinner, only about ten minutes away, and also in the downtown area.

We wanted to see the Little Italy Food Hall, at least from the outside, and luckily it was only a couple blocks from the restaurant we were going to. There was a nice piazza, all lit up with twinkle lights and lots of outdoor tables. They sometimes have live music in the evenings. We were impressed by the fountain right in front, and we loved how it was lit up purple. The whole scene was so Southern California and gorgeous.

For dinner we dined at Harumama, an Asian eatery with sushi, ramen, and character steamed buns. I was drawn there for the Hello Kitty and Pooh Bear buns. I chose two of each. The kitty buns had Nutella inside and the Pooh Bear ones had a sweet egg custard filling. Both were sweet, delicious, and really adorable! But first, I had some sushi, a California Roll, which tasted fresh and flavorful. My husband loves a good bowl of ramen so he had the Fat Duck Ramen. It had Tonkotsu broth, duck chashu, bok choy, miso, and fried garlic. I tried a bite of the duck and it was really tender. To drink, I had a glass of Pinot Noir. Then it was time to head back to our room and crash for the night. The next day we were heading for LEGOLAND!
