A Visit to the Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair in Puyallup is celebrating its 126th year. The fair is held every September and is an annual tradition for us.

This weekend is the opening of the Washington State Fair. Our family went yesterday and kids are free all weekend. It was raining when we arrived and I was a little worried since I was wearing shorts and didn't have a hoodie, just a sweatshirt. But we got lucky and by the time we finished lunch, it stopped raining, the clouds cleared, and it actually got warm!

They have some new and unique fair eats this year and we tried a few of them. I got the Churro Korean Cheese Dog and the Deep Fried Hawaiian sweet rolls on a stick! Both were really sweet and messy, but what else would you expect! They were really tasty, especially the first couple of bites. My husband had the new Pickle Dog Corn Dog, and it was also really good. My son got the Chicken Strips and Fries in a bucket and the Fried Oreos, and my other son got a Korean Cheese Dog covered in Hot Cheetos! After lunch we bought some ride tickets for the carnival rides.

A close up of the Pickle Dog Corn Dog. He got some ketchup and liked it even better!

My sons and I had so much fun riding rides all afternoon! I rode six rides with my boys. It was a great time, but pretty tiring by the time we were done.

This ship ride my son and I rode was our favorite!

This swing ride was pretty high and made me dizzy! It was really fun though.

I bought my sons some Dippin Dots in Cotton Candy flavor. Each one was $7, so pretty pricey!

Even more expensive was this small Dole Whip for $9! It did hit the spot though.

We loved seeing the farm animals, especially the goats!

We had so much fun at the Washington State Fair this year! The fair runs until September 27th.
