Today is the last day of January, so I'm showcasing a few sweets treats I tried this month that I didn't already feature on my blog here! These are not in any order of when I tried them, but this first item I found at Target last week.
I've been seeing these Dubai Chocolate style bars but filled with cotton candy. They have the same texture and thickness, but the bar I tried was a Very Berry Cotton Candy Milk Chocolate bar. I loved the berry flavor, the texture of the cotton candy filling, and the smooth chocolate. This bar was fun to try and heavy on the novelty, but it was very tasty!
This month, Costco introduced a new pastry in their bakery. They're the Blueberry Cheesecake Caramelized Croissants. The reviews I saw made them look awesome, but the filling in ours was very minimal. I also found the caramelized crust on the bottom to be too hard and kept getting stuck in my teeth. Since my son wears braces, I had to just peel the whole bottom off of his. These pastries looked amazing, but you could get a bad batch like we did.
This month Starbucks introduced a few new drinks for their Winter menu, like this Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha. I didn't taste like Dubai Chocolate but was delicious anyway! And a cake pop is always a good idea to pair it with.
I saw someone enjoying some fresh Key Lime Pie in Florida on YouTube and I started craving it. When I spotted a frozen one from Marie Callender at the store, I bought it. This Key Lime Pie was excellent, and I will be buying another one! A refreshing and bright tasting pie to enjoy in the wintertime.
One weekday night, we took a drive and treated ourselves to some Dairy Queen. We almost never get it, because it's kind of out of the way for us. As a soft serve fan, this ice cream always hits. This time, I could tell the flavor, and freshness was a little off, but how tasty do these two ice creams look!? Also, the calories in the parfaits and Blizzards are insane, but for the occasional treat, it doesn't make a difference.
This is a sign to treat yourself, even if it's just wintertime and you celebrated the holidays just last month. With Valentine's Day around the corner, there's even more opportunities for sweet treats for yourself and your loved ones!
