Dinner at La Palmera for Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos
The El Altar cocktail at La Palmera to celebrate Day of the Dead! This drink is a Tropical mango-pineapple Margarita and was garnished with a pretty marigold.
On Halloween before we took our sons trick-or-treating, we dined in SLU at La Palmera. The restaurant was decorated for Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Every year they decorate for Christmas and we go every December for their Pop-Up Bar. In other years, they've named it their Christmas Cantina, but either way, they go all out for the holidays with their decor! This was the first time I've seen them decorate for Dia De Los Muertos. They do an awesome job with the holiday decor and it's such a fun time drinking and eating because of the festive vibes. The Dia De Los Muertos also looked amazing, and I took a ton of photos around the restaurant, of course!
They had four Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos cocktails to choose from. I tried an El Altar and my husband and I shared a Witch's Potion. The El Altar was so pretty with the marigold on the rim and was a tropical and fruity margarita that was really tasty. The Witch's Potion was served in a martini glass and was also so pretty. It had a magical shimmer that I loved! And it had Mezcal which is so smokey and delicious to drink, along with blackberry for some fruity and tartness. Both cocktails were so unique and fit the theme perfectly!
I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos with Rice and Beans. I love these kinds of tacos, especially when they're nice and cheesy like these. The shredded beef was tender and savory and tasted even better dipped in the side of consommé broth. Our family had such a fun and tasty dinner, and we loved the Dia De Los Muertos theming!
