A Visit to the Seattle Art Museum for Free First Thursdays

Today is the first Thursday of the month, so that meant select museums around Seattle were free. We hadn't visited the Seattle Art Museum in about a year and a half, so I wanted to visit. They also have a new art commission in the museum lobby which I love so much. There are 40 clouds with faces suspended from the ceiling, making up the FriendsWithYou: Little Cloud Sky commission. You don't need a ticket to come check this out, since it's located in the lobby. These happy clouds inspire positivity and inspiration. Each cloud is plastic and four-feet wide. These clouds made me happy! I was excited to see a new art installation at the Seattle Art Museum lobby.

Since we hadn't visited in a while, the art around the museum was new, too. They were some Andy Warhol's I hadn't seen before, and some Georgia O'Keefe works we really liked that we hadn't yet seen. There was also a new and interesting area with a space themed. This was called the Mission Brief: Venus is Missing exhibit.

If you missed checking out the museum today for free, try again in August. The standard price is $30 per adult, so I recommend visiting the first Thursday of the month when it's free.
