A Stay at Mirabeau Park Hotel in Spokane Valley, WA

A Manhattan cocktail from the happy hour menu at Max, the hotel restaurant at Mirabeau Park Hotel.

Last week my family and I drove to Montana to visit our relatives. We spent the night in Spokane Valley to split up the drive into two days. We stayed at Mirabeau Park Hotel and Convention Center. It was a lovely hotel with free parking, breakfast, an outdoor pool and hot tub, balconies with each room, and a nice onsite restaurant. The restaurant is Max and has a daily happy hour. The complimentary breakfast buffet was also at Max.

We started at the bar with a happy hour Manhattan. This cocktail was made perfectly and was really strong. I also drank an Old Fashioned with dinner that was also perfectly executed. The server at our table was so friendly and talkative, and we had a great time chatting whenever she'd come by. She was from the same area in MT as me, so we had fun talking. My husband and I decided to share three of the appetizers. We ordered the Walnut Crusted Brie Cheese, the Beef Tenderloin Tips, and the Chicken Wings. The Beef and Chicken were tender and flavorful. The Brie Cheese was just okay; I would skip this appetizer. They also brought out complimentary bread with a whipped butter with pesto and balsamic that hit the spot. We finished with some bright tasting and refreshing Mango Sorbet which we shared.

After dinner we spent some time in the pool and hot tub. We arrived right when the sun was setting, and it was really nice. The hot tub wasn't very warm, unfortunately. Our boys had a blast playing in the pool. Back in the room, we enjoyed the hotel robes and the balcony. We also liked the bathroom with the sink on the outside of the room, and another sink inside the bathroom with a large walk-in shower and toilet. I didn't sleep too well since I was too excited about the trip, and I find this happens a lot on the first night of any vacation.

The next morning, we grabbed our breakfast vouchers and headed downstairs to Max. The buffet was a pretty standard one with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, yogurt, and more. They also had coffee and juice. They had a Bloody Mary Bar for an added cost, but we didn't partake. Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head to the Flathead Valley of MT to see my family. I was impressed with Mirabeau Park Hotel and found the price we paid at around $150 a night to be a great deal. We had a standard room with two queen beds.

One of the best Manhattan's we've tried.

Sitting in the hotel lobby with my Manhattan while we waited for our table. We had about a thirty minute wait.

Some really good bread and butter to start our dinner.

The Old Fashioned tasted so good!

These Chicken Wings were thick and had so much tender and juicy meat.

These Beef Tenderloin Tips were delicious and topped with mango.

The Walnut Crusted Brie was interesting, but not our favorite.

For dessert we shared some refreshing Mango Sorbet.

The pool, right before the sun set for the day.

You can't go wrong with bacon and sausage for breakfast!

This Bloody Mary bar looked amazing!
