Dinner at Wood Shop BBQ

When you think about good BBQ, Seattle doesn't really come to mind. But there are some notable spots in the area for decent BBQ. Having never been to Texas, I don't have much to compare it to, but one spot we just tried is Wood Shop BBQ. They opened in 2014 and one of the owners is from Kansas and the other is from Texas. They smoke their meats with imported Hickory from TX, but get their meats from Pasco, WA.

They have a full bar, so I started with a Blood Orange Lemon Drop. My husband's cocktail was a Gin Daisy. Both drinks were solid handcrafted cocktails that paired well with our BBQ. He had the Pork Ribs and I had the Brisket on top of Mac and Cheese. The rub on the ribs were done nicely and the meat was really tender, almost falling of the bone. My Mac and Cheese was overcooked, but there was nice flavor on the Brisket pieces on top. The Mac and Cheese was also spicy, which I didn't really like. The Ribs win this round!

When you enter the restaurant, go to the right over to the bar. This is where you'll order your food and drinks. You can sit anywhere, and they'll bring you your food. They have a dining room and an outdoor patio for sunny and warm days. They have some nice options like Pulled Pork and Brisket Sandwiches that also sounded amazing. I'm a Brisket fan, so anytime I get some is a good day!
