The Bite of Seattle 2024

Milk chocolate and fresh strawberries in a cup from Choco Frutti!

This weekend is Seattle's annual food event held at Seattle Center- The Bite of Seattle! My family and I attended yesterday. The last day is tomorrow, July 21st. We went around 3 pm and it was super busy. The lines were just starting to get long, and the day was definitely warming up! This year they're featuring 250 food and drink vendors and there's some unique and delicious options.

After last year's flop, they switched it up and went back to how the event operated in the past. No mobile orders, with cash and card payments again. Last year at the Bite of Seattle, you could only get food from mobile ordering from their app and paying that way. It took forever and nobody was happy about it. This year's event was so much better, and all of the lines moved quickly and efficiently.

This year they had a variety of carnival games located right by the playground area.

They also had these cool balls that float in water, and you can roll around in. It was kind of pricey at $15 for each person. They also had these at the WA State Fair last year.

The first item I tried was a cup of fresh and juicy strawberries covered in melted milk chocolate from Choco Frutti. This is a viral dessert made famous from the Borough Market in London. This snack is perfect for walking around and you eat each chocolate covered strawberry with a fork, of course. However, I did still end up getting chocolate on my shirt. You can choose either white, dark, or milk chocolate, and your choice of a topping. I picked some strawberry shaped marshmallows that my sons immediately ate. It was fun watching them make mine, since the chocolate comes out of an actual spout, over the strawberries. So unique!

My sons each got a potato on a stick! These were tasty but really messy!

For this year's Bite of Seattle, they featured some food spots from around the country. One of them was Famous PUDN from CA. They sell mini banana pudding cups in a large variety of flavors. We tried the Original Banana Pudding. It was creamy, smooth, and dense pudding. It was packed full of fresh banana slices and Vanilla Wafer cookies.

My kids wanted some mini doughnuts! I'm not sure what this place was called, since their sign was hard to read. One son tried the Powdered Doughnuts and the other had the Caramel ones. These were made fresh right in front of us.

My son also tried some Deep-Fried Oreos, but I wasn't able to get a photo of them.

And lastly, we tried Sushi Pizza from Sushi Pizzeria! This was absolutely delicious and so unique. We tried the Alaskan which featured Alaskan King Salmon. I chose a spicy mayo as my topping. Each piece had a crunchy tempura "crust", then a first layer of seaweed. Then there was a layer of Surimi, and then it was topped with fresh fish and a spicy mayo. If you're a sushi lover like me, you'd enjoy this Sushi Pizza. We loved the textures and the taste. It was spendy though, at almost $20 for one. Three of us shared one, so we all just had a few bites.

This year's event was so fun! There were a ton of other items we didn't try that looked incredible, too!
