Ferry Tripping- A Weekend in Sequim, WA

This past weekend my husband and I took a ferry to Bainbridge Island and from there we drove to Sequim, WA.  His relatives live there and the reason for the visit was so I could photograph their son's senior portraits.  But a weekend away is always relaxing.  It's so nice to get away from the busy city, especially in the summer when the crowds of tourists take over and our neighborhood is busy with the local high school football team practicing.  Quiet Sequim is the perfect summer hideaway for us.  Plus it's always fun to ride the ferry.  We took the 7:20 PM ferry and the light was pretty, reflecting on the city and the water.  The Bainbridge Ferry is only about a half hour ride.  Just long enough to stand on the bow of the boat and feel the wind in your hair, take bunches of photos like a tourist, and get a snack inside.  The Seattle Great Wheel looked nice from the water.  I had a new perspective on the Seattle Skyline and noticed how the Wheel really does change the look of it.  Once docked on Bainbridge, the drive is about an hour to our destination of Sequim.

Hello, West Seattle!

Passing another Ferry just like ours.

Majestic Mt. Rainer.

A dog on the ferry, just chilling, waiting to explore Bainbride Island.

Pulling up to Bainbridge, at sunset.

All most ready to dock and drive off the ferry, now headed for Sequim!
