A Visit to the Museum of Pop Culture | Summer 2025

The Museum of Pop Culture is located in Seattle at Seattle Center. This is the perfect place for music fans and lovers of pop culture. My family and I visited last year and then again, this week. About half of the museum exbibits were the same, but there were still new things to check out. We enjoyed seeing the Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses exhibit a lot and I highly recommend it to any grunge and punk music fans. I used to listen to Nirvana a lot when I first moved to Seattle 25 years ago, so it felt kind of nostalgic walking around and checking out the artifacts.

Even though we walked through some of the same areas from last year, I noticed new things I didn't before. A great reminder of why people love to visit the same places, cities, attractions more than once. They currently have a special exhibition- Asian Comics: Evolution of an Art Form and we were able to check that out. There are two floors showcasing the creativity of Asian comic art and its powerful impact on global pop culture. This will be at MoPop until January of 2026.

We looked at the Scared to Death: The Thrill of Horror Film again, and this can be kind of scary for young children. There's lots of great artifacts from horror movies that are fun to see in person. I popped into the Massive: The Power of Pop Culture, and took a photo of Rhianna's bodysuit, because it looked cool. I also noticed a Batman and Robin costume I didn't see last time.

The Museum of Pop Culture is always a fun and informative attraction to visit. Showcasing the past and present in art, music, and pop culture is a powerful thing that bonds us, and it should always be celebrated.

The Museum of Pop Culture building is a striking 140,000 square feet and was designed by Frank O. Gehry.

Don't miss the Chris Cornell Statue right outside the museum.

So many amazing things to look at the Nirvana exhibit.

Me, gazing at the guitars! I love this artistic way of displaying the guitars.

The staircase to the Horror Films area.

I liked these sketches of the characters from the classic Horror movies. I didn't notice these last time.

This frightening skeleton caught my son's attention. Pretty scary, but kind of bold at the same time.

The Asian Comics area.

The costume from the original Batman and Robin.
