A Visit to The WA State Fair

 

Do the Puyallup! Our family checked out the Washington State Fair yesterday on its first day. Kids got in for free, and adults also got in for free if they brought a canned item for a local food drive. 

The Washington State Fair is back in Puyallup and their celebrating their 125th year! We went on the first day and had so much fun on rides, playing games, checking out animals, trying the new rooftop bar, and trying new food spots. Our first stop, after buying some cotton candy for my sons, was the new 1900 Food Hall and Rooftop Bar. The Food Hall is on the first floor and has some new food spots with Detroit- Style Pizza, sandwiches, Asian food, and more. The rooftop bar is 21 and over and is up the stairs. 

We loved the large mural in the food hall for its vibrant colors! We got a slice of the Detroit-Style pizza from Upper Crust, and my son got a giant pretzel with cheese sauce. The prices were really high, at almost $10 for one slice of pizza. There was too much cheese, and the quality wasn't great. For dessert, we all shared something sweet and unique- a Birthday Cake Elephant Eat from Doh! Sweets and Treats. This classic fair food was huge! It was under-cooked like a cookie and covered in a birthday cake frosting with sprinkles. We really liked this one! 

Then my husband and I took turns going upstairs to the rooftop bar. The views of the fair from above were really nice! I ordered a State Fair Margarita and took a seat to take in the fair vibes. This rooftop bar is really nice and spacious, with tons of seating and cool views! Highly recommend is you're 21 or above! 

After having a blast on a couple of rides, my sons played some games. I won a small donkey stuffie for my son, and my other son won himself a small donkey. We enjoyed seeing all of the goats! There were so many, and they were pretty darn cute. 

There were a lot of new things this year for the 125th Anniversary. We had so much fun at the WA State Fair! Are you going to the fair this year in your state?
