Dinner at Pelican Brewing Company in Cannon Beach

A few miles south of Seaside, OR is Cannon Beach, another memorable seaside town that's worth seeing.  More restaurant choices abound but one place I wanted to check out was the new Pelican Brewing Company, which opened in May of this year.   Right away when we walked in, I was instantly drawn to the beautiful, blue mural on the wall.  The dining room looked rustic, yet modern with its high ceilings and wooden beams.  The kitchen was an open-kitchen concept and we could watch my flatbread pizza going into the oven.  There was a spacious bar to the left of the kitchen if you wanted to try a local beer.

They're an all age restaurant with a kids menu and crayons and goldfish crackers, even.  Our boys started with noodles with butter which they brought out in mere minutes after I ordered it.  Meanwhile my husband and I sipped a beer while we decided what we wanted to eat.  I drank a hard apple cider from the Square Mile Cider Co. while my husband had a light beer which I can't remember the name of.  Beer isn't my favorite so I forgot to take note of what he ordered to drink.

I ended up getting the MacPelican's Ale Sausage Flatbread which had tomato basil sauce, mixed mushrooms, balsamic marinated red onions, fresh mozzarella cheese, and MacPelican's Ale Italian sausage.  The flatbread pizza was gourmet with high quality and fresh ingredients and was cooked perfectly.  It paired well with my hard cider, too.  My husband ate a sandwich, but a special one at that.  He had the Tri-Tip Sandwich which was slow smoked tri-tip sliced thin and piled high on a brioche bun with herbed bleu cheese spread, crispy onions, and house-made Tsunami Stout BBQ sauce.  He loved it and was still talking about the sandwich the next day.  The servers were all super friendly, even with our rambunctious kids trying to throw crayons.  I liked how the restaurant looked and how my food tasted and I was really happy we stopped in!
