Trying Dave's Hot Chicken in Seattle

A Dave's Hot Chicken Slider, the mild level, which has a kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's Sauce.

A fan-favorite from Los Angeles, Dave's Hot Chicken finally opened a location here in Seattle last month. The lines went down the block and chicken lovers waited two hours for their grub. I decided to wait until the crowds died down and I visited today.

Dave's Hot Chicken started in East Hollywood in 2017 when three friends pooled together $900 and set up a fryer in a parking lot. Their Nashville Hot Chicken was so out of control good that they drew lines and hype. Instagram and social media helped spread the work out, and someone from Eater LA ate their chicken and from there, the rest is history.

They now have locations all over the U.S and I was physed to visit the one here on Capitol Hill. We went at lunchtime and there was a small line. We then waited thirty minutes for our food. Not bad compared to the month prior. We were starving and salivating just thinking about that spicy chicken and crinkle fries. I ordered the #3 which comes with a Dave's Hot Chicken Slider, Crinkle Fries with Dave's Sauce, a Hot Chicken Tender with a slice of bread and pickles. I also ordered a small Strawberry Milkshake.

You can also choose your spice level, starting at no spice, all the way to reaper, the hottest level! I chose mild, and it turned out to be the perfect level of heat for me. The slider had a juicy and succulent piece of chicken and I couldn't wait to take a bite. Right away I knew it was worth the wait. The coating and spice rub was to die for. This was my first time trying Nashville Hot Chicken and I was in love. I also liked the kale slaw, pickles, and special Dave's sauce on the slider. It was omg tasty!

Then I tried the Hot Chicken Tender. Wow! The outside was just right and the chicken itself was perfectly cooked and juicy. I even added some honey they hand out, and it was sweet, salty, and spicy perfection. The fries were also incredible, seeing as crinkle fries are my fav and they were coated in a little bit of the spicy dry rub this place is famous for. They were even better dipped in a side of the Dave's sauce. The strawberry shake was good, nothing extraordinary, but it did pair well with the hot and spicy eats!

Trying some Nashville Hot Chicken from Dave's Hot Chicken was the perfect way to start 2024! Run, don't walk to this spot if you love Hot Chicken Sandwiches and Tenders!
