Making Cinnamon Rolls for the first time | Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Yummy Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls to eat for Thanksgiving breakfast! (If they last that long!)

Today was my first time making homemade Cinnamon Rolls. I wanted to make something yummy to enjoy for Thanksgiving breakfast and I wanted to make something with pumpkin one last time this season. I always just bake some canned Cinnamon Rolls for holiday breakfasts. They're easy and the whole family gobbles them up. But since we have all this time at home now (Covid), I thought I'd try something different for Thanksgiving this year.

It was fun making these Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls. It was nice to get away from a screen for a bit and get my hands dirty. I had a little trouble mixing the cold butter with my flour mixture, so I got right in there and used my hands. It worked! And the cold dough felt good in between my (first washed) hands! Then I added the pumpkin puree and milk and my dough was nice and sticky, ready to roll out.

The neat part was rolling the dough up and slicing the dough into the rolls. This was a fun project even thought it was messy. Then the rolls baked for about twenty minutes. While they were baking, I made my cream cheese icing. Finally, after the rolls were out of the oven and cooled off for a bit, I frosted the top of each one.

These rolls were quite dense from the pumpkin puree and not overly sweet. I really liked the cinnamon on them and the cream cheese icing on top! These will be perfect for breakfast, especially with some coffee!

The recipe I used is from sweetandsavoryfood.com. You can go here to see the recipe I used!

Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

The rolls are ready to go into the oven!

Just out of the oven and getting ready for frosting!
